MoU Signed Between OCM and Discover Pakistan

The Office of Communications and Media (OCM) has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Discover Pakistan, the first satellite tourism TV of Pakistan.
The MoU signing ceremony took place on May 31, 2023, and it was an honor to have some distinguished guests at UMT. Among the notable individuals present were:
1. Mr Abid Shirwani - Director General, UMT
2. Dr Kaiser Rafiq - CEO, Discover Pakistan
3. Mr Ahmer Shehzad - Head, Office of Communications and Media (OCM)
4. Mr Waqas Chaudhry - Director Coordination, Discover Pakistan
5. Ms Wardah Batool - Assistant Manager, UMT TV
This collaboration with Discover Pakistan opens a world of opportunities for the UMT Family. Through this partnership, OCM-UMT aims to initiate innovative programs, organize impactful events as well as develop and disseminate compelling content.
Discover Pakistan will facilitate UMT as follows:
1. Study Tours: Discover Pakistan will facilitate and coordinate study tours for UMT participants. This includes organizing visits to Discover Pakistan studio and other relevant locations to provide participants with an immersive and enriching experience.
2. Internships: Discover Pakistan will offer internship opportunities to UMT participants. This includes providing access to facilities and resources to support the learning and development of the interns.
3. UMT Family’s Participation in Discover Pakistan Programs: Discover Pakistan will offer UMT faculty, staff, and students’ opportunities to participate in Discover Pakistan programs, such as attending tapings or live events. This will provide UMT's community with exposure to the media industry and opportunities to network with professionals in the field.
4. Technical Workshops: Discover Pakistan will conduct technical workshops for UMT team and participants. This includes providing training in areas such as video production, editing, and postproduction. The aim is to enhance the skills and expertise of the participants and enable them to create high-quality content.
We are confident that this collaboration will bring about positive outcomes for both UMT and Discover Pakistan.
