UMT is Truly a Global Institution: Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau

Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau, US Consul General in Lahore, addressed the large gathering at the 14^th UMT Convocation. She said that it is indeed a pleasure and an honor to be here at the 14^th UMT Convocation. This day reflects a special moment of accomplishment for the graduates. She said that when we think of Pakistan, we think of 70 years US Pakistan partnership. However, today we are thinking of the future and Pakistan is critical to the future in terms of innovation, stability and peace. She thanked Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad and Dr Muhammad Aslam for inviting her to the 14^th UMT Convocation.

She added that many faculty members are alumni of the Fulbright Program. UMT is truly a global institution. Over 40 UMT faculty members have benefited from research and academic collaboration with GMU, USA. US Pakistan Alumni Network is the largest in the world. Additional programs have been established. She concluded her address by congratulating the graduates on behalf of the people and government of the USA. She said that the graduates assembled here today present the best and the brightest of Pakistan.
