UMT held its 20th Annual Convocation Ceremony 2021

University of Management and Technology (UMT) held its 20th Annual Convocation 2021 at UMT Greens. Total 1658 graduates were given degrees in various disciplines on this occasion. According to the details 822 Bachelors, 191 Masters, 608 MS/MPhil and 37 PhD degrees were conferred.
Furthermore 10 Patron’s Gold Medals, 12 Rector’s Silver Medals, 07 Rector’s Academic Excellence Awards Gold Medal, 06 Certificates of Excellence, 06 Research Publication award for MS/MPhil students, 05 Highest Number of Publications (Faculty), 05 Highest Impact Factor Publication (Faculty) were also given away on the occasion of the annual convocation.
Rector UMT Dr. Asif Raza gave a welcome note where he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the students, faculty, parents and the guests of honor for gracing the event. He appreciated the dignified participation and presence of students and their parents at the UMT Convocation and congratulated them on successfully completing their degrees. Addressing the participants of the UMT Convocation, he said that today marks another pinnacle in your life's journey and is the culmination of a long and tough academic journey. Furthermore, he added that life has provided you with new options, possibilities and opportunities and would lead to great success to serve as the next stepping stone.
He spoke about the various milestones that UMT has achieved over a certain period of time. He also held management and faculty in high esteem for their inclusive leadership traits. He further stated that because of their devotion, determination and dedication UMT has become the nation's premier institute of higher education. In the last, he advised that graduates must strive to become model professionals and exemplary human beings and must display tolerance in their professional as well as personal interactions.
President UMT/ILM Trust Ibrahim Hasan Murad, congratulated the graduates for achieving a milestone and making their parents and teachers proud. He further expressed that youth are the architects of the future and can lead to a developed and prosperous country. They have the power to change their lives and we at UMT help them fulfill their dreams. We want our graduates to bring the essence of moral and ethical behavior that embodies Islamic values and leaves a mark on human history.

Mr. Murad advised the students to live for others and not for themselves. This digital and complex era is filled with possibilities of change and improvement which welcomes everyone who can cultivate humanity with all its manifestation.
The honorable guest Dr. Samar Mubarakmand (N.I, H.I, S.I, FPAS), Pride of Pakistan, Pakistani Nuclear Physicist Chairman, Punjab Mineral Company addressed young graduates and congratulated them on their success and beginning the new chapter in their journey. He appreciated the efforts of UMT towards quality education. Sharing the glimpses from the past, he said that there was a time when the country was dependent and did not have enough resources for its defense. But later on by the grace of Allah Almighty, today Pakistan is a first nuclear state in the Islamic states and seventh in the world.
He commended Ibrahim Hassan Murad for his tremendous contribution, hard work and dedication in taking UMT to the new horizon of success. He also said that Pakistan has been endowed with the best human resource capital and education is the only way to polish it.
Chairman ILM Trust/UMT Dr. Ahmed Omar Murad, gave an insight for the young graduates, congratulated them and encouraged them to become responsible citizens of the society. In his address, he thanked the exceptional faculty and staff who gave the university their best which created a real essence in the next generation of Pakistan. While advising the students that being a citizen of Islamic republic of Pakistan, we must know the consequences of our choices. There is always a right way and wrong way of doing things therefore we must have a sense of accountability before the creator of this universe.
Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan laid the foundation stone of UMT hence rich tribute was also paid to him for his invaluable services in the field of Science and technology and making Pakistan an invincible state on the face of the world, as he has made history by equipping Pakistan with an impregnable security umbrella. 30 seconds of silence was observed in the loving memory and honor of Dr. AQ Khan, and prayers were made to the Almighty for peace for the departed soul.
President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad also presented a souvenir to Samar Mubarakmand at the end of the ceremony.
