UMT Organizes 4th Global Forum on Islamic Economics, Finance and Banking 2019

The UMT Institute of Islamic Banking (IIB) organized the 4th Global Forum on Islamic Economics, Finance and Banking (IEFB) on February 27-28, 2019 at the UMT Lahore Campus. This mega academic event aimed to bring together Islamic scholars, eminent Islamic finance researchers, students and Islamic banking experts to discuss the role of Islamic banking and finance towards the promotion of socioeconomic well-being. Further, issues and challenges faced by the industry today were also highlighted and their possible solutions were suggested.
The chief guest of opening session was Tariq Bajwa, Governor SBP. The opening address and conference brief was delivered by Prof Dr Rukhsana Kalim, Dean IIB. Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rector UMT, Abid H K Shirwani, DG UMT, Ghulam Muhammad Abbasi, Director IBD, State Bank of Pakistan, Dr Yahya Abdul Rehman, CEO, LARIBA Bank, and Justice (R) Khaleel Rehman Khan, Chairman, Halal Development Agency, also graced the event with their presence.
