SST Students Win Several Competitions at BRAINIAC 2018

The School of Systems and Technology (SST), UMT, earned a great success in the 1st Blockchain Hackathon and BRAINIAC 2018 held at University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore. SST students’ team led by Dr Shahid Mahmood Awan and Dr Adnan Abid was able to secure 2nd and 3rd positions in the 1st BlockChain Hackathon held at UET Lahore. The prize money was Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 PKR, respectively.
Earlier this year, the team of Dr Shahid secured 1st position in a Data Hackathon held at ITU and won prize money of Rs 100,000 PKR.
SST students participated in several competitions at BRAINIAC-2018, UET. They secured 1st and 2nd prizes in two different gaming competitions. The prize money was Rs 5,000 PKR for each. Mohsin and Zeeshan Khan led these teams, respectively. SST students supervised by Mohsin also participated in Engineering Project Competition and gained 2nd position. The prize money was Rs 8,000 PKR. Overall, UMT stood 2nd regarding the number of titles and prize money.
BRAINIAC is an annual 2-day event comprised of different technology competitions. This allows students, young engineers and entrepreneurs to compete with each other through their technical projects and revolutionize their technology perspective. This event takes place with international conference ICCOST’2018. Participants from all over the Punjab participated in these competitions. Organizing team is from IEEE UET, IET, SMS, and IEEE Lahore Section.
