Launch of Official UMT Mobile App

UMT launched its official mobile application called myUMT on Monday, February 10, 2020. Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rector UMT graced the event as Chief Guest. The event commenced with welcoming the Rector, followed by recitation of the holy Quran.
myUMT is a major contribution of OTS, UMT, facilitating the University in competing with the modern, technical world of today. Rector UMT officially launched the application and a slideshow on what the app contains was displayed. The application was a vision of Ibrahim Hasan Murad, President UMT who proposed this idea that all portals should be integrated in one place that can be accessed via mobiles or tablets. Hence, the idea was executed by Muhammad Talha Saleem who developed the application. He provided the audience with details about its features.
myUMT has three main users which are staff, students and visitors. The app is a hub of all the basic details like, updates of news and announcements, UMT events, faculty information, staff telephone extensions/directory, information about sports and clubs, UMT faculty rating, information about UMT, LMS, information about UMT, LRC, information about UMT coaches (see shuttle hours and real-time position of vehicles on map), UMT classified, UMT student portal, UMT admission portal, UMT campus helpdesk, job placement portal, updated prayer timings of UMT mosque, and UMT rideshare (share your transport with UMT fellows or vice versa).
Rector UMT gave an address in which he extolled the entire team of OTS, especially Amir Allaud Din for the successful launch of myUMT. He commended that the application was an amalgamation of various features which were classified well. However, he hoped and looked forward to having necessary arrangements made for regular updating of the application.
