'Farhang e Sinfi Mutaleyat' by Dr Ambreen Salahuddin is a companion of gender studies in Urdu published by Urdu Science Board. The discipline of gender studies is comparatively new to our region and not much work has been done in Urdu on terminologies of gender, gender studies and feminism. Many terms are ambiguous and unfamiliar for the local readers. So, in compilation of this book, the prime focus is to make readers acquainted with important terms and turning points in the history of women emancipation movements. Another feature that makes this book a reliable resource is that it includes citations and references from credible research in proper APA format.
Dr Ambreen Salahuddin has teaching experience of more than a decade. Her earlier books include a companion of Gender Studies in Urdu ‘Farhang-e-Sinfi Uloom’ (2018), translation of Richard Dawkins’ ‘Magic of Reality’ in Urdu as ‘Haqeeqat ka Jadu’(2018), published by Urdu Science Board and a research work ‘Feminism in Modern Urdu Poetesses’ (2005) published by West Pakistan Urdu Academy. She authored two books of Urdu poetry Sar-e-Dasht-e-Gumaan (2004, PENPC "First Book Award" in poetry) and Sadyon Jaise Pal (2014).
