Dr Muhammad Aslam Shares the Progress made by UMT in the Convocation Address

Addressing on the occasion, Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rector UMT, expressed his gratitude to the chief guest Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar for gracing the occasion with his presence. He said that this is a special day for parents, teachers, and the graduates. This day marks the completion of a successful era in the lives of the graduates.

Giving an overview of the academic progress made by UMT over the past year, Rector UMT said that the wide variety of degree programs offered by UMT are accredited by the relevant bodies. He added that UMT gives special importance to research by its faculty members and students. He apprised everyone that UMT faculty and students present their research work in national and international conferences and journals. UMT is publishing 16 journals. These research contributions have placed UMT among the top class private universities in the country. He added that UMT has a highly qualified faculty and has an excellent infrastructure to support learning and research.

 

The University is raising the bar of quality by providing international exposure to its students and faculty. The Rector informed the audience that UMT organized many numbers of international conferences in 2018 with participation from the USA, UK, France, Germany, Korea, Sri Lanka and other countries.

Further highlighting the scope of UMT academia, the Rector stated that UMT has been ranked among the top 500 universities in QS Asia University Rankings for 2019. He also added that UMT is a general university with a great diversity of programs. Today, 1330 students are graduating whereas the new intake of 2018 has reached over 5500.

He concluded the address by advising the graduates to earn success on the basis of commitment, hard work and tolerance towards their fellow workers. He said that they must work in the best interest of their organization. As you serge ahead, he added, you must become a source of pride for your predecessors and for UMT. Dr Aslam also paid a glowing tribute to the Late Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Founder UMT, for his visionary leadership, dedicated services and optimism to the academia of Pakistan and abroad.
