2nd Global Forum on Islamic Economics Attracts Leading Scholars and Practitioners

The Global Forum on Islamic Economics, Finance and Banking organized by the Institute of Islamic Banking at UMT attracted scholars and intellectuals from across the country. Delivering the keynote address, Prof Khurshid Ahmad, Senator and Vice President, JI, provided a review of Islamic economic success, failures hope and risks. He said that the global market for Islamic Banking and Finance has grown significantly over the years and this testifies to the strength and vitality of Islamic principles.

 

 

 

Addressing on the occasion, Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Rector UMT, said that the objective of this conference is to provide a platform which will connect practitioners, professionals, religious scholars and ulema and those involved in teaching and research. This is a platform of civil society where people who have been the greatest driver of Islamic banking will gain further insight into the pace and progress of Islamic banking and finance. He said that it is his hope that as the years go by, this platform gains momentum and becomes the leading global platform that connects the world of Islamic banking and financial institutions.

 

 

 

Earlier, Dr Rukhsana Kalim, Dean IIB, welcomed all the distinguished guests. It is worth noting that the Global Forum 2017 on Islamic Economics, Finance and Banking is held at Faletti’s Hotel from January 25-16, 2017. It is being attended by leading academicians, heads of Islamic financial institutions, researchers and teachers of Islamic Banking and Finance.
