Social Entrepreneurship Ideas Highlighted in Idea 99 Conclave Organized by SBE

The Department of Skills Development (SKD), Dr Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM) held Idea 99 Conclave on June 15, 2019. The Conclave involved students and practitioners presenting their social entrepreneurship ideas with the basic aim to receive feedback on the ideas, shed light on the impact and outcomes of these social entrepreneurship ideas, and connect social entrepreneurs with students and academics.

The conclave was attended by Umar Rashid, Chairperson, Department of Skills Development, and Co-Founder, Idea 99 Conclave, Tanveer Sahoo, Chief Minister Inspection Team, Faisal Masood Afzal, Director Finance, Varioline Group, Farwa Ali, Co-Founder, Marham, Shahid Rassal, Technical Director, Nagina Group, Muhammad Abdullah Khan, Business Development Manager, Finja, Gohar Ayub Izhaar, Director, Izhaar Industries, Umar Qamar, Export Left Over, Sadaf Iqbal, Manager Environment and Social Safeguard, Energy Department, and Sabah Mushtaq, Lecturer, Kinnaird College, as speakers and judges. Saad Athar Sheikh, Communication Consultant, Government of the Punjab, Visiting Lecturer, UMT , and Founder IDEA 99 Conclave, hosted and managed the conclave.

The Guests provided insights to students on their life experiences as social entrepreneurs, evaluation of student ideas, and most importantly provided motivation to the students to pursue their ideas and goals. A total of 135 socio-entrepreneurial ideas were pitched in three stages of the conclave. The event was covered by various national media outlets.
