Nabila Abbas, Alumnus UMT Awarded with the Prestigious Diana Award

Nabila Abbas, Alumnus UMT has been recognized with the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts – The Diana Award. She has been selected from Pakistan for her mission to educate women and girls growing up in rural Pakistan, empowering them to achieve their ambitions.

Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, the Award is given out by the charity and has the support of both her sons, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex. The Diana Award values and invests in young people, encouraging them to continue to make a positive change in their communities and live of others. There are 13 Diana Award Judging Panels representing each UK region or nation and a further three panels representing countries outside of the UK. Through a rigorous nomination process, the nominators have to demonstrate the respective nominee’s impact in five key areas: vision, social impact, inspiring others, youth leadership, and service journey.

Nabila has been an outstanding member of the UMT community. She also created the initiative Aviation Literary Forum, which provides a space to encourage other girls to realize their dreams. She is currently completing her Aviation degree and is using her global platform to represent girls in rural Pakistan.
