Journal of Islamic Thought and Civilization Recognized by HEC

Thursday, November 09 2017

The Journal of Islamic Thought and Civilization (JITC) has been recognized by the HEC in ‘Z Category.’ The JITC is among the pioneering journals of the University and is being published biannually since 2011. Till now, 12 issues have been published while the next two issues are in process.

The inception of the JITC is attributable to the visionary leadership and guidance of Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Chairman, ILM Trust, who took a special interest in its initial foundation and establishing of the advisory board. He also gave his valuable input regarding contents of all issues. It was his constant support and encouragement that kept the editorial team motivated and committed towards the improvement and publication of the journal.

It is worth mentioning that JITC has achieved this remarkable status because of continuous support of Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rector UMT, for bringing out the Journal, and Dr Abdul Hameed, Dean SSS&H, has maintained the quality and regularity of the journal. The Journal started under the guidance of Dr Muhammad Amin, IIB, the founding editor of the JITC and later it was led by Dr Humaira Ahmad, Editor JITC, up till now. Muhammad Rafique Awan, Director, Knowledge and Research Support Services, contributed greatly in improving the quality of the journal to meet the HEC criteria.

This distinction serves to motivate the editorial team in striving for even greater excellence in academic scholarship. The team is determined to improve the journal in every conceivable manner and achieve international recognition.
