HEC Accredits BS Food Science and Technology Program Offered by UMT SFAS

BS Food Science and Technology program offered by the School of Food and Agricultural Sciences (SFAS) has received official accreditation from the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) of the Higher Education Commission Pakistan (HEC), and has been placed in the X3 category. Moreover, the MS Food Technology program has also received the formal NOC status from the HEC. Furthermore, SFAS is in the process of getting NOC for another MS program, MS in Food Quality Management.

For an emerging school that was founded in 2017 with Dr Nauman Khalid at the helm, it is a great achievement indeed, and a matter of pride and a clear sign of how much hard work, passion, and dedication went into accomplishing this success. With a focus on academic and research excellence, SFAS is committed to producing consummate professionals capable of serving their respective communities. For achieving this goal, and as per the vision of Dr Nauman Khalid, SFAS is more than happy to collaborate with any institute/department at UMT.

SFAS was founded according to the vision of the late Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, who wanted to promote the education of Agriculture and Food Sciences in Pakistan. SFAS takes this opportunity to thank Ibrahim Hasan Murad, President UMT, and Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rector UMT, as well as all the UMT offices that made this possible, with their continued support and professional expertise, in particular, Office of Planning and Development, Office of Campus Management and Services, Office of Information and Admissions, Office of Information Systems, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization, and Office of Technology Support.
