Rector's welcome speech at CTL

Rector of the University of Management and Technology, Dr Muhammad Aslam has urged the faculty members to polish up their skills, potential and impart quality education to the students who are leaders of tomorrow. He said that every teacher ought to be an exemplary teacher who needs to do research on his or her subject, be at home in it, adopt an impartial teaching and research methodology and put latest teaching trends into classroom practice and demonstrate an optimistic behavior towards intellectual growth of the students.

He was addressing an orientation session arranged in the honor of newly hired faculty members that was held by Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL).

The Rector said that professional grooming of teachers is a matter of great importance and UMT by recognizing its significance is fully facilitating the faculty members and creating opportunities for them to grow up more professionally and leave an impact on the society. He said training of teachers is an integral part of their life without which emerging challenges could not be faced out and teachers cannot inspire a generation. Dr. Muhammad Aslam said UMT is reinvesting its resources on curriculum and faculty development program so that the participants of all degree programs are delivered the best quality education they deserve for.

Earlier, the Director Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), Ms Saida Asif welcomed the Rector to the orientation ceremony and gave a briefing regarding new hiring of the faculty members in different departments. Later on, the tea and refreshment session was also held where the Rector had a friendly talk with the audience who shared their views with him.
