About ORIC

The Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) has been set up at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) in line with the guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). ORIC is mandated to facilitate a high-quality research process in the University and its commercialization. ORIC is very actively working to promote research and commercialization activities and academia-industry collaboration at UMT. ORIC provides services related to research and development, innovation, industrialization, commercialization, collaborations, seminars, workshops, submission, and approval of research projects/proposals/grants/funding/awards.

ORIC deals with research training of both students and faculty members of UMT, planning, execution, support, intellectual property rights, and technology transfer to develop industry-academia linkages and to provide an appropriate mechanism for the process of commercialization. ORIC has the mandate to create an enabling environment in the university where the scientists, researchers, and research users can interact, work and develop cutting-edge research-based technologies. ORIC is an excellent bridge between university research and research user of industry and society. ORIC is directly engaged in the essential activities which are in the line of HEC.
