Dr Muhammad Aslam Meets Deans and Directors to Discuss the Performance of PhD Students

Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rector UMT, chaired a meeting to review the performance of PhD students of various Schools/Institutes on June 20-21, 2019. The meeting was attended by Dean of Research, Director QEC, Registrar, and Deans/Directors of the concerned schools and institutes. A comprehensive review of students’ progress on various stages of their programs was conducted. The committee thoroughly reviewed active and dormant students, course completion, supervisor allocation, and thesis completion status of the PhD programs. Time barred cases and academic reports of PhD programs offered by respective schools/institutes were also reviewed during the meeting.
The committee devised an action plan to remove discrepancies in the students’ registration data by eliminating/updating the record of dormant and graduated students. SOPs were also finalized to ensure the students’ progression through various stages is seamless and properly monitored. The meeting concluded with Dr Muhammad Aslam emphasizing the significance of keeping the PhD students’ data updated for avoiding unnecessary delays, better decision making, and facilitating progress of students towards the achievement of their degrees.
