Webinar on Strategic Importance of Pakistan and its Potential

The geostrategic significance is the importance of a country with respect to its location and position.  Pakistan lies in a region which has great military, political, and economic importance. Pakistan plays a crucial role in global politics and international stability due to its strategic location in the crossroads of Asia with India as its neighbour in the east, China in the north, and Afghanistan and Iran in the west. It is believed that one of the most innumerable gifts bestowed upon Pakistan by nature is its ideal geographical location. Accreditations and Academic Improvement Cell (AAQIC) in collaboration with School of Governance and Society (SGS) hosted an online webinar on “Strategic Importance of Pakistan and its Potential”. The webinar was scheduled on January 18, 2021. Dr Samar Mubarakmand, Nishan-i-Imtiaz, Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Fellow of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences was invited as guest speaker to discuss Pakistan’s potential in becoming the hub of international trade and commerce. Dr Aisha Azhar, Acting Director SGS commenced the session by formally welcoming the speaker. Dr Mubarakmand mentioned that Pakistan is sharing borders with countries that are considered to be one of the biggest markets in the world. He further stated that through prudent actions Pakistan can open new doors of economic progression and prosperity for its people. The session was well-attended by UMT students, staff, and faculty members. Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rector UMT extended immense gratitude to Dr Mubarakmand for his intellectual contribution and time.
