NTC Conducts Accreditation Visit to IAS for BS Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology Program

The National Technology Council (NTC) conducted a two-day accreditation visit to the Institute of Aviation Studies (IAS), University of Management and Technology (UMT), for the evaluation of the BS Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology (AMET) program.
The NTC evaluation team comprised Prof. Dr. Salim ur Rehman (Team Lead), Prof. Dr. Iqbal Rasool (Expert), and Hafiz Ghulam Muhammad (NTC Representative). The visiting team was received by Dr. Ahmad Aizaz, Dean IAS, along with Dr. Faran Ahmed Hameed, Program Manager – Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, faculty members, and administrative staff of the Institute.
During the visit, the accreditation team conducted a comprehensive review of the program, including academic and administrative processes, faculty qualifications, curriculum design and implementation, laboratory and workshop facilities, assessment practices, and student support services. The team also interacted with faculty members, students, and relevant stakeholders to evaluate the overall quality and effectiveness of technological education being offered by the Institute.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase IAS’s commitment to academic excellence, continuous quality improvement, and compliance with national accreditation standards. The evaluation process reflected the Institute’s dedication to preparing competent graduates equipped with the knowledge and practical skills required by the aviation industry.
Mr. Asif Saeed Haider, Director, Accreditations and Academic Quality Improvement Cell (AAQIC), facilitated the accreditation process and extended institutional support throughout the visit.
