Mr. Asif Saeed Haider Director AAQIC Represents UMT at 6th International PNQAHE Conference

Mr. Asif Saeed Haider, Director AAQIC, represented University of Management and Technology (UMT) at the 6th International Conference of [Pakistan Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE)], hosted by Baqai Medical University from 13–15 April 2026 in Karachi.
The three-day international conference, themed *“Catalyzing Global Citizenship: The Strategic Role of Quality Assurance in Internationalizing Higher Education,” * brought together renowned national and international experts, quality assurance practitioners, policymakers, and academic leaders to deliberate on emerging trends and challenges in higher education quality assurance.
Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Chairman HEC, graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was attended by eminent dignitaries and thought leaders including Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq, Executive Director HEC; Dr. Syeda Asiyah Bukhari, President PNQAHE; Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed, Vice Chancellor BMU; Prof. Dr. Sohail Naqvi, CEO Knowledge Stream; Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi, Chairperson HEC Sindh; and Mr. Stig Arne Skjerven, Chair of UNESCO Global Convention on Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education.
The conference featured insightful keynote sessions and workshops by distinguished international speakers, including Dr. Cato Rolea, Head of Digital Innovation & AI at the University of Southampton, who discussed AI-ready quality assurance and the evolving role of prompting in academic quality systems; Mr. Stig Arne Skjerven, who highlighted the importance of trust, recognition, and global mobility in higher education; Dr. Samya Awadh Al Shanfari from Muscat University, Oman, who shared perspectives on leadership psychology and institutional quality systems; and Mr. Simone Ravaioli, Director of Global Ecosystem & Innovation, who presented on micro-credentials and digital transformation in higher education.
Other notable international contributors included Prof. Dr. Selva Staub and Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayindir, who shared valuable insights on global citizenship, student engagement, and international quality assurance frameworks.
Participation in this prestigious international forum provided an excellent opportunity to engage with global experts, explore innovative quality assurance practices, and strengthen collaborative networks aimed at advancing excellence and internationalization in higher education.
