UMT Celebrates Quaid’s Day with Great Zeal and Tradition

University of Management and Technology (UMT) commemorated Quaid Day with great zeal and tradition. Cake cutting and flag hoisting ceremony was also conducted on this occasion. Adherence to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s principles of unity, faith and discipline is needed more than ever to steer the country out of all seen and unseen internal and external challenges, said Ibrahim Murad University of Management and Technology(UMT).

Addressing students on the eve of Quaid Day, President UMT Ibrahim Murad said that Pakistani society had become fragmented as a result of ethnic divisions, baradari-ism, provincialism, intolerance, and widespread corruption, and the people needed to revisit the invaluable advice offered by Jinnah if we wished to progress as a nation.

He said even after 75 years of independence, Pakistan was still struggling on almost all fronts, especially in its efforts to stabilize the economy, improve education, and alleviate poverty.

“We can transform Pakistan into a true Islamic welfare state by following the teachings of Islam and advice of Quaid-e-Azam,”Murad said, adding that Pakistan should strive to become a model for the other Muslim states.

The UMT president expressed that Quaid had called upon youngsters to work hard and focus on education, as it was essential for becoming valuable and productive citizens.
Ibrahim Murad further suggested that the youth needed to be trained as top educationists, policy makers, lawyers, economists, researchers, medical practitioners, and engineers in order to help steer the country out of crises, adding that each individual must perform their duties with commitment and honesty to make this country a great nation of the world.
