UMT Student Housing (USH)

Rules and Policies

  • Host-elites are not allowed to go outside UMT Student Housing (USH) after 10:00 pm for boys and 08:00 pm for girls. However, in case of any emergency they have to inform Hostel In charge, UMT Student Housing (USH).
  • It is reiterated that if you come late after 10:00 pm, you will be charged a fine amounting to PKR. 3000/- (each time) with a warning letter.
  • No guest /outsider can stay overnight in UMT Student Housing (USH) without prior permission.
  • Only blood relations can stay but not more than two nights. PKR1,000/- per night will be charged for guest stay.
  • No visitor is allowed to enter UMT Student Housing (USH) without furnishing his/her original CNIC at UMT Student Housing (USH) gate. 
  • No one will be allowed to travel in UMT Student Housing (USH) transport without having a valid UMT Student Housing (USH) card.
  • During summer, usage of the AC/air cooler is subject to prior approval (of the Hostel In-charge) and registration on the record book.
  • In case of any query, Host-elites can contact the Head OCMS/ Warden USH or Hostel in charge in writing through email and cell phone.
  • In case of a breach of rules, the case will be forwarded to Hostel Warden, for stringent action against the violator.
  • Head OCMS, Warden USH has full authority to charge fines or to expel law offenders from the USH.
  • USH accommodation will be provided only to bona fide students of UMT who have domicile in cities other than Lahore. Day scholars do not need to apply except under special circumstances.
  • Boarders seeking admission to Student Housing (USH) should apply on the prescribed forms along with two passport-size photographs that can be obtained from the Admissions Office or can be downloaded from the USH website.
  • If a boarder who is allotted USH accommodation is not personally residing in the allocated room and is found by the administration to be misusing the room, i.e., keeping unlawful or illegal occupants, his/her allotment will be canceled and the case will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee for further action.
  • University authorities are not obliged to provide USH accommodation to every student. The USH management reserves the right to refuse this facility.
  • Boarders shall be required to pay their dues in advance, i.e., prior to joining the semester. In case of arrears, they will become ineligible to stay and the allotment shall stand canceled.
  • All the boarders are required to get a clearance certificate from the Warden USH& Head OCM Sat the time of leaving the hostel.
  • Any kind of affiliation with any political organization, federation, or Jamaat and any activity accordingly will not be allowed on UMT USH premises.
  • Students who leave the hostel before completion of his/ her degree will not be allowed to enter USH even as guests.
  • Smoking is strictly forbidden in any area of the Hostel. This includes all Rooms and outdoor areas that are owned by the University. For the purpose of this directive, tobacco products are defined as cigars, cigarettes, pipes, hookahs, all forms of smokeless tobacco, clove cigarettes, and other smoking devices such as vape and electronic cigarettes.
