CORONAVIRUS COVID-19

Remote Access

Remote access allows accessing a network or computer remotely at home through a network connection. It allows users to access their systems when they are unable to physically attend office or university. We would encourage our students and staff to access their classes and offices remotely. This will enable them to connect with their teachers, office heads and immediate supervisors from the comfort of their homes, ensuring timely communication and interaction without commuting to and fro to the university during these tough times.

Teach remotely

We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our staff members who have been performing their academic duties, online. All graduate and undergraduate classes are successfully taking place online which shows how well-prepared we are to evolve and digitize our medium of instruction. The idea behind this shift was to protect our student and faculty body from the deadly outbreak of COVID-19 and to limit their interactions and commute to and fro the varsity.

We are aware of the fact that such teaching practises requires logistic and technological support, however, we ensure that extraordinary measures will be taken to carry-out the pedagogical practices without any interruption.

Work Remotely

We commend the dedication of the staff and faculty of UMT to stand as strong pillars of the university in these trying times. Our staff began working remotely as soon as a shutdown of educational institutions was announced. This shows how prepared UMT is well in time. As hard as it may be the staff and faculty of UMT is working from home to ensure the proper functioning of all the projects without any hindrance. This decision aligns with our goal to ensure minimum interactions on campus, slow down the rate of transmission, and safeguard our community.

The faculty is providing online classes to the students and the staff is working from their respective areas to provide their utmost support. Working remotely, without a proper workstation and environment is not at all an easy task but the UMT family believes in hard work and unity in order to overcome the odds faced today.HR and other concerned bodies of UMT are closely monitoring the situation and amending workplace policies accordingly to address the emerging issues of the staff and faculty.
