UMT Faculty Member Faran Awais Butt Wins Young Leaders Development Award

Another proud moment for UMT and School of Engineering (SEN) as Faran Awais Butt, Faculty Member, has bagged the Young Leaders Development Award (Innovation) by the Ministry of Planning, Division and Reforms. The prestigious award is given to high achievers in chosen sectors. The award was won after competing on all Pakistan basis. It consists of a trophy with the insignia of Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms. The ceremony was held at the Pak China Friendship Center, Islamabad, on August 11, 2016.
During his visit to the HEC, Faran met a number of individuals related to R&D including Naushaba Awais, Director R&D and Dr Muhammad Latif, Advisor R&D. He also had a meeting with Dr Amjad Hussain, Director, Research and Development at HEC who expressed an interest in developments at UMT. Faran explained how UMT has progressed over the years.
It is worth mentioning that Faran has also published high quality research papers. He also won a US Patent (in radar area) in June 2015 which is the first ever international patent in the history of UMT.
