UMT launched its web channel - ‘UMT TV’ in 2016 to give voice to the academia of Pakistan and respond to the challenges of the digital world. It provides a strong platform to our students to learn from industry experts and receive on job training in latest technologies. UMT TV has the honor of hosting numerous talk shows of renowned personalities from all over Pakistan. These guests belong to diverse backgrounds of media, textile, education, telecom and IT industry.

The primary aim of UMT FM Radio 98.2 is to disseminate healthy information to target audience using enter-educate program format. UMT Radio plays an active role in enhancing UMT brand image and engaging more listeners to expand its penetration. Live transmission of important UMT events and activities is an important aspect of its services.

UMT TV is committed to high standards in media research, production and practices. An efficient team of competent students and talented media professionals are managing the operations of UMT TV. These include anchors, moderators, cameramen and student internees/volunteers.

Key Features

State-of-the-Art learning Facilities

The learning center is technically equipped fully for media students; to understand the dynamics of the emerging digital world and the communication needs of the Pakistani society. Currently, the UMT TV Lab have two latest cameras: Non Linear Editing camera and graphic designing, which is handled by two professionally trained cameramen.

Facilitation Center for Live Coverage

The center has many facilities which consist of Production Control Room (PCR) and Main Control Room (MCR) for the production of audio-video programs, news bulletin, live shows etc. Latest HD cameras, professional lights, microphones and professional studio are also set up for the live programming of the event.

Hands-on Training

UMT Media students go through an intensive training programs of three months to six months, during which they are trained in production activities of UMT TV which includes news and program anchoring, program production, non-linear editing, graphic designing, script writing, camera operations, light settings, indoor-out door shoots etc. The hands-on training is given in accordance with the relevant degree program.


Through mutual coordination, students are encouraged to try out innovative ideas and come up with alternative media practices.
