Chairman Pakistan Railways met with President UMT

UMT will play a vital role in capacity building of Railway employees; President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad.

Chairman Railway Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani appreciated the capability of UMT and decided to take IKL on board.

LAHORE (              ) President of University of Management & Technology (UMT) Ibrahim Hasan Murad met with Chairman Pakistan Railways, Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani here at Pakistan Railways Headquarters, Lahore.  CEO of Institute of Knowledge and Leadership (IKL), Mr. Sohail Rizvi accompanied him. The meeting was also attended by other senior leadership team of Pakistan Railways including CEO, Chief Administration Officer, Chief HR Officer, and Director General Pakistan Railway Academy (PRA).

During exchange of thoughts Chairman Pakistan Railways, Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani showed interest in capacity building of their employees by UMT.  CEO of Institute of Knowledge and Leadership (IKL) gave a detailed presentation on the services that IKL can provide, in developing the human capital and transformation of Pakistan Railway Academy.

President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad said that UMT can play a vital role in capacity building of Railway employees and offered the academic services of UMT and assured that Institute of Knowledge and Leadership (IKL) will transform Pakistan Railways Academy into a digitally advanced Centre of Excellence in Rail Transport. He also expressed that Pakistan Railways is our national asset and UMT considers it a national duty to improve it.

Chairman Pakistan Railways, Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani was very impressed by the capability of UMT and IKL and showed interest in taking IKL on board, as a learning partner of their academy. Mr. Gillani also sought expertise of UMT in identification and induction of professionals to improve academic quality and international linkages. He also appreciated UMT Management for showing interest in uplifting the National Economy. Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani advised his team to work with CEO-IKL to prepare a roadmap for future collaborative projects and learning initiatives.

Expressing his views further Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani said that he is on mission to revamp Pakistan Railways into a modern rail transport system and this can only be achieved through competent and professional human resources. He reiterated the need of developing management cadre into world-class leaders, while developing non-management technical cadre into skilful and committed workers. He reassured all the participants that he will deploy necessary financial resources to achieve this mission.
