We consider ourselves lucky because we are all working as a family in a major organization, University of Management and Technology (UMT) President Ibrahim Hasan Murad said on Friday.
He was addressing the Long Service Award Ceremony organized by the Office of Human Capital Management (OHCM) to commemorate the services of employees who have served the organization for between 10 and 25 years.
Besides the UMT president, UMT Rector Dr Asif Raza, OHCM Director Brigadier (r) Naveed Zaman, Dr Mujahid Kamran, UMT Registrar Saleem Ata, and other senior staff members and faculty attended the event.
During his address, UMT President Ibrahim Hasan Murad said the staff, administration, and faculty worked together as a family. He said the success of any organization required a strong affinity between the organization and its employees.
"We consider ourselves lucky because we are all working as a family in a large organization i.e. UMT," the UMT president said. “UMT is indeed very fortunate to have staff members whose years of dedication, commitment, and loyalty have shaped and contributed towards the success of the institution,” he added.
He praised and congratulated all recipients of the Long Service Award and urged them to continue working with the same dedication and zeal for the provision of improved educational services.
In his concluding remarks, Murad said the success of UMT “is the success of Pakistan”.
UMT Rector Dr Asif Raza said UMT was one of the best universities in Asia and that the credit for UMT’s achievements went directly to the tireless efforts of the late founder Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad (Shaheed). He said the staff and faculty played a major role in the success of UMT, urging participants to continue working together for further development of the institution.
The UMT rector added that all employees were important members of the organization and their abilities and contributions were of paramount importance for the varsity’s continued progress. He vowed that the UMT management “will also take care of them by all means possible”.
The addresses were followed by a certificate awarding ceremony led by UMT President Ibrahim Hasan Murad and UMT Rector Dr Asif Raza.
