Spring Orientation 2020 Kicks-Off To Facilitate New Intakes

Spring Orientation 2020 for the new intakes was held on January 16, 2020, at UMT Greens. The ceremony was attended by students, faculty members, Deans, Directors, and Heads of the Departments. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Students from the Special Needs Department gave an enthralling visual representation of the National Anthem and were applauded by the attendees.

Sajeel Ahmed, Deputy Registrar, Academics and Academic Affairs provided a brief introduction of the departments to the new intakes. He briefed the students about the administrative work and policies of the Office of the Registrar, Office of Controller Examination, Office of Treasurer, Office of Campus Management Services, and Office of Safety, and Security and Vigilance. He informed students about class schedules and timings, course registration procedures, attendance requirements, academic calendar, minimum CGPA requirements for degree completion of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral candidates, program duration limit, and academic probation limit as well.

 

An informative question and answer session was arranged for students and different queries related to fee submission, campus facilities, academic programs, UMT policies, course offerings, and registration processes were resolved.

 

Different managerial offices, including Learning Resource Center, Information Processing Center, the Office of Career Linkages and Placement and the Office of Student Success gave detailed presentations to the new intakes

A campus tour was also arranged for students by OCMS, followed by refreshments. Later, each academic department led the procession of students to the orientation of their respective schools.

This week-long orientation session aims to facilitate the new intakes and provide them with needed information pertaining to academic programs, rules and policies and develop acquaintance with the campus life.
