Obituary: Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad

With deepest sorrow and anguish, we announce that Professor Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Founder and former Rector of University of Management and Technology (UMT) and Chairman, ILM Trust, has by the Divine Will, passed away in a tragic car accident near Gilgit on September 10, 2018.
ILM Trust and UMT announce that his funeral prayers (Salat-ul-Janaza) will be held on September 12, 2018 in UMT premises at 05:00 pm. Kindly join the UMT community for earnest prayers on behalf of our beloved Professor Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad.
Professor Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, a man of letters, was one of the most distinguished educationists of Pakistan. He was a pioneering intellectual who also held several business and management innovations to his credit. As an erudite teacher, his scholarship and affection has left indelible marks on thousands of his students worldwide. He was an icon of humility. His piety led him to excel in philanthropic initiatives.
His sad demise is an irreparable loss not only for UMT but for the scholarly, academic and religious communities of Pakistan as well. May Allah bless his soul, place him in heaven and give his family the courage to bear this great loss. He will be lovingly remembered by thousands of people who were touched by his kindness and exceptional scholarship, inclusive of his family and friends.
