Dr Erie Matthew from Oxford University Visits UMT

Professor Dr Erie Matthew, Oxford University UK-China Center, visited UMT on the invitation of Dr Haroon Rasheed, Director, UMT-CPEC Center, on August 10, 2017.
His purpose of visiting UMT was his interest in developing collaboration between UMT-CPEC Center and Oxford University UK-China Center. Dr Muhammad Aslam, Rector UMT, warmly welcomed the guest and talked about the initiatives taken by UMT regarding CPEC. The meeting was also joined by Professor Bob Wheeler, Dean HSM. At the end of the meeting, Rector UMT presented souvenir to the guest.
Dr Erie is a renowned Sinologist, a Juris Doctorate and PhD from Tsinghua University, China. He has worked for several years as an attorney with a US Law firm in Beijing. He also wrote a book titled ‘Islam in China.’ Furthermore, Dr Erie teaches courses of Law and Anthropology at Oxford University and his focus is on Chinese law.
