Concluding Session of International Conference on Contemporary Issues in Muslim Societies and Cultures

The International Conference on Contemporary Issues in Muslim Societies and Cultures concluded today after 2 days of deliberation and discussions on the diversity within Islamic societies. The discussions revolved around attaining a broader understanding of the contemporary issues and challenges faced by the members of Muslim societies across the world.

 

The 2nd day of the conference included 5 plenary sessions, i.e., Islam, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding, The Nexus of Gender and Islam: Focus on Pakistan, Islam in South Asia, and Islamic Political Thought. The closing session was addressed by Dr Mian Ahmad Hannan, Chair, Department of Media and Communication, UMT, and Dr Humaira Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Department of Islamic Thought and Civilization, UMT. The conference concluded on the distribution of souvenirs to the distinguished guests. It is worth mentioning that the Conference was organized by the Department of Sociology and the Department of Media and Communication at School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Hospitality Inn and it was concluded on April 6, 2017.
