UMT provides a strong IT backbone for all its academic programs. Information Processing Centers (IPCs') form the core of all programs designed to cater to the requirements of a perfect learning environment. IPC is equipped with latest Core 2 Duo and P-IV (Intel) PCs, laser printers, color printers, scanners and a wide variety of latest software including Databases, Development tools, Spreadsheets, Word Processors, Graphics, CAD and latest Internet Browsing and WEB based Applications. All the PCs in the Lab are networked on a LAN running Windows 2000 professional, Windows XP and Linux environment.
Internet and E-mail facility is also available to all the students through dedicated lines with the Internet Service Providers to ensure full access to the students at all times. Dial-in-access in also available for the students to remotely access their e-mail and other network services including On-line resources.
A highly qualified technical support personnel maintains smooth and uninterrupted operations of the lab facilities.
Besides this, the guidance and help of these technical professionals regarding the software and hardware used in the lab is also available to the students at the time of need.
IPC Rules
Information Processing Center (IPC) users are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible and courteous manner and follow the mentioned rules while using IPC Computer Lab.
- For entry to computer Lab possession of I.D Card by each Student is must.
- Lab users must log into their own accounts. Logon Account/password sharing is strictly prohibited. It may be cause of their data deletion and some other major damages.
- Lab users must log out after finishing their work.
- Unauthorized Visitors are not allowed.
- One Person per workstation is allowed.
- NETSEND utility/command is not allowed in computer lab.
- Mishandling of Internet : - Unethical sites, playing games on internet are not permitted in IPC.
- Food or drink is not allowed in IPC at any time.
- Smoking is not permitted in IPC.
- Save your files in DataServer, Do not store your files where someone else can use them, (e.g., on a local hard disk drive).
- Refrain from disruptive behavior such as loud talking, using mobile phones.
- Students found responsible for damage to the lab, equipment will be liable for such damages.
- Do not reboot, turn off, or move any workstation, PC or Any Devices. Do not load any software on any lab computer. Only lab operators and technical support personnel are authorized to carry out these tasks.
- Every one including students, staff etc are informed that any devises in or out of IPC you should get gate pass in/out against it, you can get it from server room.
- Personal systems will not be permitted to mount in lab. Only final project presentation systems will be permitted in IPC.
- In case of any violation of above mentioned rules will be face fine up to Rs. 5000.
