1st International Conference on Business Management organized by University of Management and Technology on March 28-29, 2011 at Pearl Continental Hotel Lahore was the two inspiring days full of spirit, enquiry, and intellectual luxury that rarely come about. The conference under theme “Business, Academia, & Government Partnership” was countered by thirty-five scholarly research presenters, fifty corporate tycoons and government representatives, and ten young (MS, & PhD) scholars to share their contributions to their universal obligation of knowledge. This unique blend of presenters fascinated a huge gathering of knowledge seekers from all business schools of Lahore, a dozen cities across Pakistan, and two dozen other countries including USA, UK, India, Mexico, France, China, New Zealand, Orem, Netherlands, UAE, and New Zealand, to attend this memorable event of knowledge.
Observing the enthusiasm of participants, researchers and corporate presenters, Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad, Conference Patron announced to carry forward this tradition to next year and organize 2nd International Conference on Business Management under theme “Business, Society, Science and Technology” on March 28-29, 2012. 2nd ICoBM 2012 is a very special program and conference for Business Management in March, 2012 at School of Business and Economics, UMT. It will again be one of the biggest gatherings of researchers, educators, doctoral students, practitioners, facilitators, and supporters from around the world in Pakistan.
2nd ICoBM 2012 under the theme “Business, Society, Science and Technology” covers the directly and indirectly a wide range of predicaments by addressing the four major variables affecting the human life in digital era. This conference challenges the Business Researchers, Sociologists, Scientists and Technologists to come up with their ground breaking research and contribute through their knowledge and discoveries in the noble cause of human development. Parallel, it offer intellectual nurturing to CEOs and Corporate Executives from Multinational and National Organizations, Government Representatives, Policy Makers and Implementers, Technologists, Sociologists, Researchers, Scholars, and a wide variety of professionals from different fields of life.
This conference at large will be organized in two parallel tracks: academic and corporate speakers with combined opening and closing sessions where His Highness Mr. Yousaf Raza Gillani, Prime Minister of Pakistan will be the chief guest. The academic track comprises of presentations by research scholars from Bangladesh, Iran, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sweden, UK, and Namibia, besides Pakistani scholars from Lahore, Sukkur, Karachi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Islamabad, Multan, Dokri, Jamshoro, Malakand, and Mardan. These presentations include theoretical, conceptual and applied papers, and well-formulated teaching cases. The program is built around various sub-tracks including General Management, Leadership, Organization Development, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Human Resource Management, Information Systems, and Supply Chain Management. The corporate speakers track comprises of presentations by International and national business leaders on the topics of their expertise to share the pragmatic and tacit knowledge with the participants. The conference ensures to provide rich opportunities to interact with a diverse array of leaders in the field of business management, connect with potential collaborators, and find out who is doing what in this diversified discipline.
