  Introduction
 

The world is changing like never before. This change is more attributed to the way business practices and strategies are changing across the globe. Business organizations are rapidly changing their domain and strategy to take benefit of this emerging global order. The shortening of distance and revolution in Information technology has influenced the business world over. The speed with which countries are liberalizing their economies has thrown a new challenge to marketers across the world to manage diverse customers across the globe.

While managing these customers in the space of the globe, it has thrown unparallel challenge and has also given an opportunity for organizations to cater to larger markets. Countries, which were treated as third world, have suddenly started looking attractive for marketers across the globe and each one is vying to have a large global chare in his business. China, India and other members of emerging economies have forced managers to rethink and redesign their global strategies to emerge as successful business for the future.

This conference aims to look at the issues as well as challenges marketing managers are facing today to the emerging global business order. What are the changes one has to look for in the emerging global order and how organizations are getting ready by changing, adapting and reinventing marketing strategies across the globe? This conference will try to find out answers to this and many questions that will emerge during the interactive sessions.

This brochure is a call for submission of conference papers, cases and research articles broadly covering the theme, “Marketing in the New Global Order”

   
  Sub Themes of the Conference
 

Following are the selected sub themes of the conference. However the list is not exhaustive and researchers may submit their work relevant to any of the below mentioned sub-themes. They can also submit research papers in cross-functional areas of marketing in the context of new global order. The sub-themes include

Faculty members, researchers and corporate executives are expected to present their research work on the above sub-themes during the conference.

   
  Doctoral (Research) Track
  The doctoral and research track is planned to give an orientation to the aspiring faculty members/ faculty members/ doctoral students pursuing PhD in different universities and schools in India. The track is planned to include basics of research, application of research technology and discussions of contemporary research topics. The participants are expected to present their own research ideas and theme during the workshop and attend the technical sessions of the track.

Foreign Delegates (Presenting Papers): $100 USD per presenter (South Asia)
Foreign Delegates (Attending the Conference only): $150 USD per participant (South Asia)
  The amount is payable to “Indian Institute of Management Indore” in the form of Demand Draft or a pay order
  Important Dates:
 
Submission of Abstract (For South Asia and India): 15th August, 2006
Confirmation of Acceptance: 30th August 2006
Final Date for Submission of Complete Paper: 15th September 2006
Submission of Doctoral Track Nomination: 15th September 2006
Submission of Corporate Nomination: 1st December 2006.
   
 

Procedure of Submission of Research Papers

Interested participants can send their abstract in MSWORD format, not exceeding 150 words to the conference co-chair at markconference@iimidr.ac.in as per the dates above. The final paper should be submitted in MSWORD format either in a CD containing the title of the paper or through email to the above email address or to tapan@iimidr.ac.in. The final paper should be accompanied by a copyright declaration by author(s). Accepted papers need to have a declaration covering the originality of the paper for publication in conference proceedings. The decision of the reviewer shall be final for the purpose of inclusion in the conference proceeding.

Procedure for Participation in Doctoral Workshop

Interested applicants need to submit their application for participation in the above workshop by 15th September 2006. The selection will be done on the basis of merit of the case, recommendation of the Guide or PhD Supervisor, Director of the School or Head of the University Department and number of scholarships available for the Doctoral track. Faculty members completing their PhD will be eligible to attend the conference with a fee as mentioned above. The details of the conference is available at www.iimidr.ac.in

Procedure for Participation of Corporate Executives

The corporate nominations are invited for providing a platform for industry –academia institutions. The interested candidates can download the nomination form and send the filled in forms to conference co-chair with the requisite fees.
