MBA student wins MUIMUN scholarship

Amir Ejaz, an MBA student at the School of Business and Economics, University of Management and Technology, Lahore, recently won a scholarship at Munster University International Model United Nations (MUIMUN). The conference is the biggest Model United Nation Conference in Germany with a gathering of more than 250 students from around the globe. Through diplomacy and negotiation, Model UN students seek ways that the world community can deal with complex global concerns such as the environment, economic development, refugees, AIDS, conflict resolution, disarmament and human rights.  Students learn to understand global relations and the possibilities they have to help improve and transform the world into a better one. They assume the roles of ambassadors to the United Nations and debate current issues on the UN's agenda. Each ambassador represents a country other than his or her country of origin.

This year’s scholars came from Pakistan, Bangla Desh, India, Costa Rica and South Africa. Amir participated in the Security Council proceedings and represented the United States. He won the “Best Delegate Award”. In honor of this achievement, the Pakistani national anthem was played at the concluding ceremony of this Premier International Conference.
